The EUREKA Educator of the Year annually recognizes an Ohio educator (K-16) who embodies both high teaching competency and high leadership character in their classroom pedagogy, management and relations with their students and peers.
A EUREKA moment is a profound state of personal discovery. As educators, we want, more than anything, to create learning environments that showcase the importance of both high character and high competence to quality learning…and living…that trigger these breakthrough moments among our students. Thus, the award recognizes educators who are themselves role models for what they want their students to learn – they self-reflect, set goals, and treat students and colleagues with respect. They strive to help their students and themselves “be their best self and do their best work”.
Any Ohio educator, pre K-16, employed by an Ohio school, college or university may submit an entry.
