Volunteer “character coaches” visit classrooms every week during the school year to present one of more than 50 ten-minute lessons on the fundamentals of good behavior. The program is simple and complete; it requires minimal classroom time with no teacher preparation; it is offered at no cost to all schools and most importantly, it works!

Never underestimate the power of story

Stories are one of the three “best” ways to teach character. Why lecture when telling a story works much better? Quickly learn the basics of storytelling from a professional storyteller. There is a business proverb: “facts convince but story sells!”  Never underestimate the power of story.

Teaching with Less Stress Using the Raise the Responsibility System

Would better social and work skills from students help them to be successful in your class? This session is about classroom management, maintaining a respectful, responsible classroom and learning methods by which we can help students process information while gaining social and work skills.  Students are taught the 4 levels of behavior and the highest level is the target for behavior and attitude as well as academic performance. Using the Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures to process information, we will model the process by which classbuilding will incorporate good social and work skills.
